We’re all fed up with being sold to by irritating “click my BUY button” marketers, and this leads many of us to associate sales with sleaze.

But if we want to get hired, we have to sell our services.

Don’t be put off by people who think selling is the same thing as begging. Begging never helped a relationship!

Anyone who’s ever asked for a job is selling.

Anyone who’s ever asked for a date is selling.

Anyone who’s put a child to bed or tried to coax the family dog into the bathtub is selling.

Effective selling is about offering more than asking.

Effective selling is about value more than price.

Effective selling is about service more than profit.

Effective selling is about inspiring prospects to reciprocate.

And once you’ve gotten booked you have to sell your ideas, thought models, and credibility to your audience.
